My teeth have been an issue for around 60 years. As a kid, I had a narrow palate and needed intensive dental work. Fortunately, my uncle was a lead oral surgeon at Loyola University School of Dentistry and was able to get me in as a patient. I had braces from 3rd grade until I was a junior in high school...not fun at all...and braces back then (oral torture devices) were way different than they are now (virtually invisible and much less painful). Along with that, as an added bonus, I developed gum disease over time and needed laser gum surgery in my later adult years. That's when I was introduced to Perio Protect. A brilliant idea, actually, using mouth trays precisely form fitted to your bite (top and bottom) combined with medication placed into the trays and worn for a short period (~15 mins.) of time. It works! My gums are literally in the pink again. This is something you'll continually use to keep your mouth healthy. It's worth it keeping your own teeth...(check out the cost for incredibly expensive implants). Also, accept no substitutes for the Perio gel, just because you can get another off brand cheaper DOES NOT mean it is the same...trust me...Perio protect has gone through the testing and it's FDA approved. I like it. Gives you that after dentist clean feel. Easy to use and nice it came with a holder for everything and travel case. Appreciate that the gel isn’t super expensive to replace. The guards are kinda pricey but still if it helps will be cheaper then crowns and root canals! My teeth and gums are always in bad shape no matter what I do.

I started using Perio Gel and dental trays a few years ago at my dentist's recommendation. We had great results--healthier gums, pockets reduced to a healthy level, surgery averted! This product works best when used consistently. I think it is more efficient to distribute the gel around the inner edges of the trays rather than along the middle of the "well", since we are trying to apply the gel to the gums and not the teeth. When used diligently, it contributes to healing or slowing the progression of gum disease.
